Serve the Lord

Choose to give your life to the Lord in full service for his kingdom

1. "And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve... But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:13-15

2. "And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul." Deuteronomy 10:1

3. "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon." Matthew 6:24

in this context Jesus is teaching about laying up treasures in heaven, not on earth, giving your life in exchange for a greater purpose. Money can serve you and the purposes of God but it should not be your boss!!

Meaning: Mammon is personified as a rival master to God. This verse reveals the impossibility of dual allegiance—one cannot live for both God and money.

Zeal for the things of God should be front and centre of our lives. This is the opposite to having an appathetic who cares attitude towards what God wants, we should always be on fire and giving ourselves in service to the Lord with all of our hearts.

"Not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord." Romans 12:3-11

4. "Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you."1 Samuel 12:24

5. "Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing." Psalm 100:2

6. "And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." Colossians 3:23-24

7.  "For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ." Galatians 1:10

3. "For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another." Galatians 5:13

4. "Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others." Philippians 2:3-4
